Feenstaub und Glitzerglanz umhüllen die zauberhafte Kollektion Tutu du Monde für Sommer 2012 von Andrea Rembeck, gebürtige Deutsche die heute mit ihrer Familie in Australien lebt. Das Tutu ist ursprünglich ein Ballettkostüm. Es handelt sich dabei um einen Rock aus mehreren Schichten Tüll. Andrea Rembeck’s Tutus sind viel mehr. Es sind „Prinzessinnengewänder“ in türkis, zarten Pudertönen in rosé, flieder und creme. Die Kollektion erinnert ein wenig an den Film von Sophia Coppola, Marie Antoinette und Kirsten Dunst in der Hauptrolle.

Mit Andrea Rembecks Tutu-Kleidern werden Mädchenträume wahr. Sie sind handmade, handgefärbt und werden in kleinen Stückzahlen gefertigt. Pailletten, Perlen und Federn kommen von Hand an die Baumwolle und den Tüll. Die Kleider sind nicht nur kunstvoll gefertigt und zeitlos, sondern auch ökologisch einwandfrei und mit Liebe gemacht. Die neue Kollektion ist zauberhaft, fantasievoll, tragbar und praktisch. Die Stücke werden mit der Zeit immer besser, berichtet Andrea Rembeck. „Wir haben unsere neue Kollektion weiterentwickelt, mit wunderschönen, perlenbestickten Capes, oder mit gerüschten Schultern, kleine Boleros und süße Strickartikel für die kühleren Tagen“, erzählt Andrea Rembeck uns über ihre neue Sommer Kollektion 2012. „Oh, und einige schöne Vintage-inspirierte Pailletten Baskenmützen und Hüte sind auch dabei“.
Unterprivilegierte Frauen stellen die Kleider in einem kleinen Atelier in Indien her. Andreas Traum ist es, den Kindern dieser Frauen mit den Einnahmen eine Ausbildung zu finanzieren.
Oh, you pretty things… Tutu du Monde. With the tutu-dresses of Andrea Rembeck, little girls‘ dreams come true. All dresses are hand-made, hand-dyed and produced in small batches. Colours are dusty pastels with details made of sequins, beads and feathers, applied by hand to cotton and tulle. Fairy dust and princess dresses – dreams of another world! „We have expanded the new summer collection with beautifully beaded capes, sequinned and ruffled shrugs, boleros and embellished knits just to cover up a bit on colder days“, Andrea Rembeck tells us about her new Summer collection 2012. „Oh, and some beautiful vintage inspired sequinned berets and hats.“.
Andrea’s dream was a line of tutus that were not only timeless and exquisitely made, but that were also ecologically sustainable. Slight fading and fraying edges add to their charm over time. Along with her concept of creating a children range, a small workshop in India employing underprivileged local women produces the garments and the production process couldn’t be further from mass-production. Andrea’s long-term goal is to establish a program in India to enable the workers’ children to receive education.
